Typically when I blog an event, it’s because I have a passion for the cause. My number one, bar none event is Relay for Life due to my mothers bout with breast cancer and my sister-in-law/best friends death due to leukemia. RFL and FFL will be kickstarting very soon, so please ear-mark a few Lindens for the festivities when you are out and about shopping. I can think of no greater good then to help fight cancer’s scourge on our world, even if it is with only a few Lindens. Another event I’ve recently become aware of is the Creations for Parkinson’s SIM. For more information check out Barbie Alchemi’s blog post here:. I have a friend who was diagnosed with Early onset Parkinson’s disease and it is tragic the toll the symptoms take on a persons body and their mind. It not only effects the victim, it effects the victims family as well. This particular inworld project raises funds to benefit The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research: http://www.michaeljfox.org
Creations for Parkinson’s is having two event’s I think you may find to be really fun! There will be a Chinese New Year Celebration Dance on Friday Jan 31st from 5pm to 7pm SLT. Grab your kimono come with or without a date! And Creations will also have the grand opening of *THE CREATIONS PARK FINE ART GALLERY PRESENTS* OLD WORLD JAPAN ~ RETURN TO KYOTO which also will include a dance on February 3rd from 6pm to 8pm SLT. The art exhibit portion of the event is open to the public from February 2014 until March 2014. So don’t miss out on this one of a kind charitable event. Take from? We all have moments when we buy needless things in SL. I mean, who could blame us really? We get to wear fashions, have furniture or houses, possess things, that we could not possibly afford in real life. So whats the harm in scaling back for one day, or maybe two, and giving in the hopes that we can help find a cure that effects so many people in our world. Because heck, Michael J. Fox was in his thirties when he was diagnosed with Parkinsons. I remember it like it was yesterday because the actor was doing a comedy set at the University of Florida “Gator Growl” homecoming weekend and it was all over the news. Thirty years of age, a life not even half lived in. Please help, because you never know, your donation may one day help to find the cure for you or one of the people you love. Just a little food for thought on this hump day.
