As with all great fund raisers, the only thing missing is the great designers willing to selflessly give to this wonderful cause. This is an incredible tool to get your brand out there and known, and we all know brand identity is one of the hardest intangibles to create in Second Life, So don’t miss this chance! I help with a lot of Second Life charities, but the one that always means the most to me for obvious reasons is Relay for Life. Please don’t miss this event, created for such a noble cause. 100% of the proceeds of the SL event are for Relay for Life and are given to the American Cancer Society. Anyone who knows me knows my life has been touched more than once by the scourge of cancer. This is such a dreaded disease, it silently infiltrates families and friendships, doesn’t care whether its victim is an adult or child, nor does it care the color of one’s skin. Let’s work together to see this disease eradicated in our life time.

RELAY FOR LIFE’S FASHION FAIR IS HERE!

With a fresh New Year started, so begins the 2013 Relay For Life season. Over the years, the Fashion community of Second Life has worked diligently to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and this year, with your help, we plan to take the world by storm.

This year’s inspiration for Fashion For Life is Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. There are 7 themed SIMs, as well as 2 event SIMs:

Great Pyramid of Giza
Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Statue of Zeus at Olympia
Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
Colossus of Rhodes
Lighthouse of Alexandria

Entry fee for a Fashion For Life store is $5,000L for everyone. All payments must only be made to FASHION4LIFE2013 Resident. Once entry fee is paid, please copy/paste the transaction to Anne Daumig who will send you the invite to the FASHION4LIFE Group.

We are also looking for SIM sponsors. Please contact Frolic Mills if you would like to be the major sponsor of any of the 9 sims. The name of the sim will be your choice: Perhaps your business, or your name, or you may dedicate it to anyone you’d like!

Fashion For Life runs from noon March 9th, 2013 to noon March 17th, 2013.

Designers are asked to contribute 3 new and EXCLUSIVE items to be sold only at Fashion For Life with 100% of sales going to Relay For Life. The rest of the sales from any other vendor go completely to you.

Also, we would like to do Limited Editions, Gachas and raffles this year. One item will be a Limited Edition with only 100 copies available to the public. We suggest the Limited Edition item priced high and highly desired. Gachas items should be priced between 25L and 150L.

Raffle items may be an outfit, fatpack, Gift Cards or a service. All raffle items must be No Copy/Trans and sent ONLY to FASHION4LIFE2013 Resident.

There are more events planned for this year’s FFL, but we don’t want to spoil the surprise yet!

Let’s make this year’s FASHION FOR LIFE the biggest and most exciting one ever.

We need your help, our help is yours.

Lonely.Hearts.Club.

I know you all know me and know what a recluse and solitary person I am. I cant help it, I’ve always been a quiet reflective person. But every year, about this time of year, I get so very lonely. I put on a mask and pretend it doesn’t effect me, but it still does, 7 years later. I’ve made a new blog friend and I think he has made me introspective and I want try to share more of me. It was this month that I lost one of the dearest most loved people I know, my best friend, my brothers wife. She was diagnosed, at the age of 37 with leukemia. She lived another nine months. She was survived by a husband, two children and a best friend, her sister in law.

Did you know, Relay For Life is the highest fundraising event the citizens of Second Life participate in? When I was inworld a moment ago, my friend Emanuelle Courtois stopped me in passing and spoke of her role in this years Relay for Life project. Emanuelle is an amazing videographer and her donation to the event will be a film of second life residents who have beat the awful ravages of cancer. She would like real life cancer surviving heros (you are all heros to me) to speak in voice through their avatar about what they have been through, what they have learned about themselves and share it with others. The format would be as if you are speaking to yourself at the age of sixteen, telling yourself what is to come, how to prepare or avoid. However, this is just a guideline. This is YOUR forum to speak in. If you would like the information on the film, or would like to share it with a person you think willing to share, please contact Emanuelle Courtois, or myself by January 20th, 2013 and we will see that you receive the notecard with information.
