Maneira is having an event, a “Tribute to Vivienne Westwood” this week that I think is such a marvelous idea, I am blogging it even though I am not in the Maneira Agency. But I do love the agency and its models, as well as the designer’s involved, so it’s not a great chore. ;P I also adore Vivienne Westwood, she is a designer most noted for bringing modern punk and “new wave” fashions to the mainstream. We all have seen “punk style” with it’s BDSM flavors, bondage gear, safety pins and razors, outrageous hair and makeup, but Vivienne also included deeper elements in her designs with the use of historical 17th and 18th century cutting techniques which give the clothes an even more shocking flare.

So with this, Maneira challenged its designer’s to create a one of a king “tribute to Vivienne Westwood.” And with their great minds, they all seem to have come through swimmingly. A few days ago I posted *SoliDea FoliEs* “Vivienne” gown, Flickr:, a simply stunning work of art with its tiers of skirting and bows. Today I want to show you two more offerings in this event, and sadly, they are only available until Sunday, so if you are going to purchase, time is running out.

The first is Aliza Karu’s “Tribute to Westwood” A truly remarkable work with its outlandish punk themed swank, chains, masks, and there is even a clock on the back. The entire affect is the epitome of the punk movement I feel, a sort of shock and awe, guaranteed to have your mother swooning with a “what did I do to deserve this” comment. But then, wasn’t that what the punk movement was about? Ms Westwood herself once commented, “I was messianic about punk, seeing if one could put a spoke in the system in some way.” The Punk movement is about a shock of the senses, a nose up to authority. But the most amazing part of this outfit is Aliza Karu does it in such a notedly feminine way! It is true punk softened with flowers and lace. Gorgeous!

The next outfit from *LpD* is “Marie Antoinette.” I know, if you didn’t know Vivienne Westwood, you would think one designer totally got it wrong. But both were spot on. Westwood is a designer of many fathoms, and Nevery Lorakeet’s selection is fitting of a gown created for either the “Queens Jubilee Collection” or from her wedding selections. Because really, who wants to show up on their wedding day with safety pins in their ears, I mean, on our wedding day aren’t we all princesses at heart? I actually seem to recall a similar dress to Neve’s in the wedding collection and thought at the time how stunning it is. Nevery’s is no less so. Truly a feminine, graceful piece that makes a statement. Just for the fifteen minutes it took to snap a picture, and this is truly an unedited snapshot, I received two comments from gentlemen on how lovely I looked. Amazing. Me. A Cao. I can’t remember the last time a man has even noticed me. As an aside, the “Marie Antoinette: style Hairs are from Fauve Beaumont’s Osmose, I saw recently the store has reopened, so runnnnn! And give her a huge hug from me and pick up the really cool summer style she just released.

And as usual I digress. If you want to see some truly inspirational pieces, check out the offerings at Maneira this weekend. I just know they will have something for everyone. Have a beautyful weekend! Here you are, you know I will even give you a ride: Taxi:

I Never Saw a Purple Cow;

never hope to See One; But I can Tell you, Anyhow, I’d rather See than Be One ~ Frank Burgess

It’s always a milestone when a business in Second Life last’s for any length of time, sometimes it’s hard to be noticed on a city sidewalk, let alone somewhere out in cyberspace, so Chic Management deserves a huge congratulations! They have reached the two year milestone! To celebrate, they decided to let US have the “perks.” The Chic2 venue is a small “grass roots” event that will be ongoing from June 3rd to June 25th, 2012. The great thing about small is there isn’t a lot of moving about to do. I am sure you all have been to those huge laggy Behemoth’s where you crash more than buy? When I checked out the venue on Sunday, I didn’t even have to move, I just panned my camera around perusing from a stationary position, buying and picking up things as I went along. The best part of the event? Of the almost 150 designers, each brand will have one new and exclusive item with a Chic theme. So dust off those stilettos, carry a huge carry-all and go get some of these unique, must have items! It’s going to be fun, I’ve even called the taxi for you: Taxi:

No big secret, I just love Poulet Koenkamp of Purple Moon Creations, having worked with her several times through the past year, but honestly? Any friendship aside, I love Purple Moon because the clothes are consistently of good quality. This outfit, “Chica” is the offering for the Chic2 event and I chose to show off the outfit in purple. The pants are a wool blend with six button detailing and the top, is a sleeveless and summery, loosely fitting tube. This is the perfect outfit for a day with friends or shopping. Chic styled and simply perfect.

Since it is a purple flavored day, my second outfit is from Koketka, the “Sara” dress. What an adorable dress this is! Filled with enough playfulness it makes me want to go out and enjoy the sunshine, hiking or sightseeing with friends. The mini is softly form-fitting, and delightfully shouldered on one side only. Perfect for a younger up and coming hip crowd event.

I hope you get a chance to stop by the Chic2 event, I had a grand time and found lots of really groovy things! Have a beautyful week! =**

Spring is in the air. The snow and cold is being pushed away and replaced with the candy colored pinks, reds and purples of Spring flowers, the wind is filled with the cheery voices of birds welcoming the new day. Today is one of those days when I want to forget about work, so I did, I grabbed my favorite “Cow chair” and coaxed him outdoors, put on a saucy little sundress, no shoes and just threw my hair up with haphazard pins. And thanks to NEVERY LORAKEET of *LpD* I can and still be glam!

Recently, while fingering through the March issue of Vogue magazine I was amazed with the upcoming styles for Spring. There is something for everyone’s tastes in the choices of styles featured. The magazine featured strong, bright colors, simple comfortable everyday wear and an eclectic mix of retro-chic style that I feel had a 1950’s flare. Most noted to my mind, Prada’s classic American car inspired collection.

NEVERY LORAKEET of *LpD* (Les Petits Details) runs a boutique in similar fashion to vogue. She uses fresh, unique materials and creates designs in a multiple of styles. The day I was in store, I went for a specific outfit I had seen on flickr and I was so excited with the range of items in the store, none like I had seen anywhere else, that I left with three or four different items than the one I went in for. And they say Cao’s can’t be swayed…

Spring is in the air, time to pack up the cold and bring in the Spring and I believe *LpD* has something to inspire every colorfully creative fashionista!

Life is an endless struggle full of frustrations and challenges, but eventually you find a hair stylist you like. ~Author Unknown

Belle, one of the beautyful creations of Fauve Beaumont of Osmose

Let’s face it; I love Second Life’s hairs and shoes. What can I say, I am unrepentant, I’m a girl. I was very much saddened when my friend Fauve Beaumont closed up Plume. I honestly didn’t take it very well and finally turned Mad Cao on her and demanded she reopen right now and she did! Well, perhaps some of the story is of my own fictional making, but the part about her reopening, well YAY! It’s all true!

At Osmose, the new store, the hairs have diamonds, flowers and pins or none a’tall, depending on the style you pick, and the menu’s you set them at and all are made with the same quality that Plume was known for. They are are feminine, stylish and glam up any outfit to the nines! Flickr:

Head on over to Osmose this weekend, I know you will love the choices! If you happen to see Fauve about, tell her a happy Cao sent you. <3 Slurl:
