MAMA TUNZA. Mama Tunza’s children’s home in Kenya was started in 1988 when the founder, Mary Khasakhala, found an infant dumped in a road side drain. Filled with compassion she decided to adopt the baby. This gave birth to a lifelong passion and desire to start a children’s home. Mama Tunza, as she likes to be called, has been at the fore front of advocating for the rights of children. The home started with an infant but has grown to have about 200 children who live at the Centre. Mama Tunza takes care of their well being. Most of them are orphans of HIV/AIDS or come from single parent homes. The home accommodates and provides for these children entirely through donations. KIBERA YOUTH INITIATIVE has taken MAMA TUNZA as one of their projects you can read more at: http://www.kiberayouthinitiative.org/

Why is Monday so far from Friday, but Friday is so close to Monday? ~ unknown

ok, ok, so sometimes no matter how hard we try, the weekend just runs away from us and we find ourselves sitting at our desk on a Monday, exhausted from our “relaxing” weekend, and with nothing to blog.. In a quandary, I was clicking through my flickr looking at the pics, boy a year goes by fast, I am glad it was all frozen in time with pictures! So for this blog, I am going to include two of my favorite outfits from KIMMERA MADISON of TRES BEAU Taxi: The sign of a good designer is one who creates beautifully classic and elegant styles that will be just as chic today as they were last year and these two outfits definitely fit the bill.

Caoimhe Lionheart 2

This first outfit, Asia is playfully fun and it is simply perfect for those warmer days with its sleeveless shirt, mandarin collar and soft and silky design. The pants are adorably festooned with scarving to accentuate the hips and gives a sexy peek of a full length of leg. I would wear this incredible outfit about town, to less formal parties and to dance the night away!

As the day wears on to evening, and the outfit needs to be updated to something with a little more sophistication, I change into the Princess Aura dress. Detailed with similar draping about the hips, and a mandarin collar, this dress is gorgeous with its scrumptious silk in a lush dark red shade. The Bodice is formfitting, as is the skirt, making this a perfect pairing with a man in a finely tailored suit. But whomever you spend the evening with, there is no doubt you will be the epitome of glamorous elegance.

Cao Ice Skate Tres Beau

But, well, for those other times, you have to wear something right? And having an unseasonably, or would that be unreasonably? Cold day today in RL, my mind has wandered over to one of my favorite winter wear designers, Kimmera Madison of Tres Beau. A few weeks ago the beautiful and talented Julie Hastings created a winter pic for me of the Yuki dress. I just love this dress! Kimmera modeled it after a real world Dior dress, and the detailing is divine!

The color, a sunny citrusy orange with a hint of lime is enough in itself to warm the coldest of days. The ruffled taffeta skirting, which comes with both a long skirt and this playful short one works for any event from something fun, like a day ice skating to even the most ritzy of parties. The gorgeous jeweled snowflakes, the hat and also opaque snow-flaked tights are included. I added another layer of warmth by wearing an under-layer of plain orange tights for this day out in the icy winter. As you can see, there is no reason to wallow about in the snow looking like an oversized stuffed version of yourself!

Do you know those really bloody cold days where you can walk outside and amongst the smell of home fires burning you can actually hear the ice and snow crack it is so cold? This next set, the November set is enough to take away the bone numbing cold! The full outfit, shown in silver fox, has the most scrumptious soft jacket, full sleeves, round collar for burrowing your face into when your cheeks begin to numb and an adorable fur-balled string to bundle you up. The matching hat and boot covers warm the extremities to perfection ensuring you can while away even the coldest of days outdoors. And how often do you log into SL and have to throw a folder on to get somewhere fast? Kimmera thoughtfully created this outfit as an entire package, because the gorgeous cowl-necked wool sweater and wool plaid leggings are included. Don’t you agree this is such an elegantly classic look?

Hmmm, on second thought, why go out into the cold at all? This sexy coat, shown in mink can warm up the draftiest of days. You’ll be able to set a fire without even leaving the house. Not wanting any of my friends to ever be chilled, I’ve even included the taxi. <3 Taxi:

Fashions Fade, Style is Eternal ~ Yves Saint Laurent

Available now, in store!

I was holding off this blog because I had a picture shoot with Julie Hastings of a different Tres Beau design and wanted to go with her picture instead of my simple snapshot. But after going back to the snapshot every few days, seeing the quality of the item I was wearing, I decided I will blog them both! And that is one thing I can consistently say about Kimmera Madison of Tres Beau, she brings to her store, consistent quality and unique designs!

This is the Meryl gown, so soft and romantic in its lacy appeal. The skirt is filmy and flutters beautyful when you move, and the ultra feminine bodice is lacily demure with a scalloped design, and sexily is sleeveless. Needing an extra layer, for those early Spring days, in this picture, I included the jacket piece of Tres Beau’s “Seduction” dress. That is one of the wonderful things about Tres Beau, its easy to mix and match pieces and create your own one of a kind design. I often spend hours just putting on and taking off elements until I find just the look I want! This look is complete with the edition of the Osmose Parisienne Hairs with a saucy little beret and jewelry from Chop Zuey.

So tuck away those winter clothes and bring out some color, some fun, some Spring-time goodness! If you are looking for something to refresh and rejuvenate your wardrobe, I am sure Tres Beau has exactly what you are looking for! Taxi:

Incredible Gown Offered at Tres Beau

This dress has very special meaning for me. It is called “Hope” and is available at Tres Beau for 1000L. The gown is not only beautyful it is like buying a gift for a country. Every Linden paid for the garment is given to Japonese charity to help in the Tsunami efforts. Many of us have moved on to our lives and seldom think of this beautyful country that still works to bring normalcy back. Please, please, lets help Japan climb back up. <3

The best part, is this isn't a thrown together in a hurry gown. Like all of Kimmera Madison's designs she has worked painstakingly with the details. The neckline has a gentle, elegant off the shoulder scarfing, the satiny bodice fits divinely about the waist and the skirt is glam with its black lace in an a-line. The flowers, on the dress and hairs were not added as an after thought by me, they are a beautyful detail of the dress.

I like to believe the dark to light is a symbolism of Japan rising from the dark back to the light, much as the symbolism of the lotus flower on the bodice. The lotus flower is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols and signifies the pattern of growth, our progress of the soul from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. Such a well thought dress and to me, such a true heart of caring for a nation of people who have been inflicted with a horrific moment of time.

Please, purchase this dress, if not for the country of Japan, buy it for the beauty of the gown. It is definitely a one of a kind work of art that is so truly classic and glam, it will never go out of style. Have a peaceful weekend <3
