I am still pulled away into a real world, and as I said to my blogfriend Nightlake, Nightlake’s blog: the most astonishing thing I have found is that more than being in a Second Life, I have missed reading all of your blogs, seeing your pictures and commenting on all the wonderful things you all share. Friday is my major ” blog read” day, over 90 of you,and I felt a little bereft not checking in to see how your day is going. In the mean time, I apologize in advance, but I wanted to reblog one of my fave Second Life blogs, because it is why I love the virtuality of the Internet, the endless possibilities it gives to us all. So please be patient and wait for this litte Cao, only a few more days. I hope you will come back to see me.

My friend and fellow blogger, Harper Ganesvoort recently put a challenge up on her blog Harper’s blog: that sounded really fun! She challenged fellow bloggers to create and style their favorite fictional character. Those who know me, know that is something I do on a regular basis. It seems my head has been stuck in a book since I was three years old. Oh, the places I have been and seen, without even leaving my home! But on this week I have been a bit selfish and only dedicated time to my real world self, so, in keeping with her blog I am going to handle this challenge with a two prong approach. I am going to show a recent picture I had done by Negatif Studio Negatif Flickr: as well as some of the fictional character’s I have done in the past. I hope you enjoy! <3

Give.Your.Imagination.Wings.

The picture above is not a fictional character. In a recent copy of Vogue I was reading an article about Emma Stone, the actress, and I just fell in love with the outfits she was wearing. Vogue always seems to get the clothes perfectly matched to the interviewee’s personality, the Olsen twins were equally perfect. But when I saw this outfit, or rather, something similar to this outfit, I just knew, that outfit is Cao. I never claimed to be elegant, I am more gawky than graceful and this Emma masterpiece defined me. The credit’s for clothes will be at the end of the blog.

Living.Post.Mary.Tyler.Moore.

If you ask “Who Can Turn the World on With her Smile?” nine out of ten TV watchers, especially those who flip to TVLand channel, would know the answer is Mary Tyler Moore. Hard to believe the iconic show is 43 years old. Talk about limited thinkers, did you know when the show aired in 1970 the producers felt they needed to provide an excuse why a 30 year old single, working woman would live alone? That’s how perverse our world was back then. I can’t imagine what would have happened if she had decided to have a live-in boyfriend, who wasn’t employed because she was the sole bread winner. This probably would have caused a world war! Not really any other thoughts here, for some reason, this new outfit from Maitreya just reminded me of the iconic actress.

But there is a take from, and here it is. If you are a female, there are many things we can be thankful for and we should be. Because we have freedom of choice. Did you know the producer’s were going to make MTM a divorcee to explain her solitary dwelling preference? Hmphf, being divorced was seen as more appropriate than being single..Can you imagine a world where the only excuse for being thirty and unmarried is because some guy left you? I think tonight when I get home from work, walk into my condo, shut the door and say “hallo lonely” I’ll say it with just a little more happiness.

Yes, I know it’s rare but today, the Cao is going all formal gown. But hey, they are so gorgeous it was an easy choice. All the gowns shown here were created by Mami Jewell of Azul. I don’t think I have ever met a single female (and some male) avatars that don’t own at least one of the gowns from Azul. Mami’s creations are always a study of divine elegance. See? I think they even make me look a little glam, which is a feat in of itself. Here, I love them so much I included the taxi for you! Taxi:

I just had to dress up, I’m cranky and I’ve had one ‘ell of a day. It was either gown or knickers, and Draakje says all I ever wear are knickers, so gown won out. Blame her if you wanted to see a Cao in knickers. And if you did, I’m beginning to worry about you! I thought my phone had been stolen while at work yesterday, so I called my cell company today. She asked for some information and switched over to check a few things. She came back on the line and said, “for the security of our customer, I can’t give you any information on whether the phone has been used.” Seriously? To which I kindly replied, well sort of not kindly, I was a little stressed thinking of overages and things, “Let me get this straight, for MY security, you can’t tell ME if my phone was used after 5PM January 9th, 2013?” To which, she said, “One moment” and put me on hold again. After a few minutes, apparently seeing I wasn’t about to hang up, or perhaps seeing how pathetic I am, she same back on the line and said, “Um, actually your phone has not been used since January 8th at 7AM.” So, I am thinking YAY! I left it at home in a drawer, but that was, of course short-lived because then I was thinking WAAAHH I haven’t used my phone since January 8th, 2013… Take from, and yes, there always is one. For me, keep track of your phone, or Nook, or shoos, or glasses. Well basically anything that isn’t permanently attached to the body. Take from for you? If you haven’t seen a family member or single friend in a while, give them a call, they may not realize it, but they probably really miss you!

I.Drift.

The beginning of last week started out kindly, the days were warm and balmy, the cicadas serenaded me with their loud singing and the days mellowed into a lighter evening. Weeks like that, I love a gorgeous strappy “Lazy Sunday” sundress. Kallisto Destiny of Drift just released a pretty and chic set in multiple styles. Comfy and roomy the skirt flows softly as you walk, perfect for a lazy day spent out doors exploring, wetting the toes and enjoying the sun. SLURL under the “last knowns” page.

Sometimes, not often, but sometimes, Sundays in Second Life are difficult for me. Every time I try to complete a task, I am interrupted. Not a bad interruption, I rarely mind speaking with friends, it just seems like everyone contacts me on the same day or time. After trying to snap some pics, and chatting at the same time, I finally gave up on the pics and shouted “uncle.” Putting away the camera, I snuggled up in my most comfortable clothes and let the conversations and friendships encompass me. Life is good. Especially when wearing a soft and fuzzy “Cozy Sweater Dress” from Drift.

Don’t be scared to experiment with color, and always be happy to try a designer that is new to you. There are no mistakes, if you find you don’t like it, discard and move on. But, until you explore, you never know what you will find. Fashion is not static and in its ever changing nature, perhaps you will be the lucky one who discovers the newest “big thing.” Have fun this weekend and if you get a chance, catch some of the shows from BLVD Model Management and Best of Second Life Fashion Week. Who knows, you might even see a Cao wandering around on the runway!

Help.One.Another.

Alright, alright, I know that this “Hope for Emilia” is serious business, its purpose is to help people who, to no fault of their own, were recently devastated by a series of Earthquakes, but I’m notoriously me, I can’t help myself, I was born that way! When I was opening the different boxes and packages of items being offered by designers at the “Hope for Emilia” event, I was in awe of so many of the designs, creations that these designer’s painstakingly created for free, because 100% of the sale of the product goes to this charity. But you know how once in a blue moon you find hidden in some dusty corner a creation you just fall in love with? Well, I had my blue moon just the other day.

Help.One.Another.

When I opened the box from Riri Bazar’s H.M.A.E.M, I remarked to Riri, that she had created earrings and a head band of little Cao’s! What a great smile this one item gave to me, I actually wore it with two outfits and then decided someone was going to smack me (Draakje) if I didn’t take it off for my next blog. The cow is of the bovine ilk; One end is moo, the other, milk.~ Ogden Nash I know, it’s very similar to when I fell in love with my Cow chair, no one understands me. –.– Dragons are rigidly inflexible when it comes to fashion, so though I still wear it every day at home, I am only wearing “The Dolls” in this one blog. I guess, if I have to.

Help.One.Another.

These really groovy shorts are the offering of Leezu Baxter of Leezu! They are mesh, lightly pinstriped and in all ways fit to perfection. I actually love the fit so much I ran down to the store and purchased them in another color for an upcoming article in Trend Magazine. They are easily dressy or casual, so they play well both dressing up with a jacket or down with a tank, or in my case, why bother with a shirt a’tall? You have to love a “can’t miss” item you can add to your inventory for quick styling for meetings and things that at the same time is giving a gift to others. Win-Win!

Help.One.Another.

This last dress, despite the playful headband and earrings, is positively glam! The Miss Darcy “Baroque Rouge” is a sophisticated slim cut gown in a gorgeous floral design. A dress for a glamorous woman, you know the sort, I envision them being the life of some elegant cocktail party, the woman surrounded by men who throws her head back when she laughs, showing a graceful line of neck and shoulder. Actually the kind who probably wouldn’t wear a “dolls” headband with the dress, but what can I say, there is no excuse for an unrepentant me.

So with these new peeks at what can be yours, and the knowledge that you can so simply help others while gifting yourself, I hope you have wandered over and picked up items for your own unique wardrobes! Muwah! Have a beautiful week! I’ve had so much fun, I’ve even included the taxi for you!

Last day of vacation, Last suitcase. The week flew by, rested and knowing a certain Little Dragon friend, Draakje Dailey is having a birthday tomorrow, (Hint: I am sure she would LOVE a gazillion IM’s of well wishes!) I knew I needed to shop! Okay, so I’ll find any excuse to shop. The secret to productive shopping is look glam while staying comfortable and all three of these outfits definitely fit the bill. The first is an adorable sundress from Maitreya, scrumptious in color, sleeveless with a gorgeous beading neckpiece.

Eat.Pray.Shop.

The second choice is a transition outfit, one of those adorably chic outfits thats a perfect style for running a few errands before meeting up with friends for drinks or dinner. When tropical it is perfectly acceptable, in fact probably expected, that shorts are elegant enough for evening wear, especially when topped with the sophisticated top, both purchased at Kungler’s. I completed the outfit with one of the many choices of top rated jewelry available at Kungler’s extra.

Eat.Pray.Shop.

The third shopping, “must have” is this linen sundress from Chantkare. Living in the south, in a tropical climate, linen has always been a mainstay of my year round attire. and face it, it dresses up and down equally well. Because here is a simple sundress that is the epitome of chic elegant with the gathered skirt hem and since it is available at The Couturier’s Dock, it’s already 50% off! But if you waited too late, it might have sold out, but you can check out the other designer’s offer’s still available. Such as the beautyful “Caoimhe” makeup I am wearing from LovelyMi! But on all counts you better hurry, the next round will begin in about a week, so these deals will be gone forever!

Well shopping done, vacation nearly ended, I am going to wander back to the beach, squeaze out the last rays of sun while sipping a margarita by the swimming pool. I hope everyone has a gorgeous weekend!

Play.

Play.

When on vacation, sometimes its so hard to let go of our adult self, but every once in a while, you need to shed the 50 pounds of responsibility and just be childlike again. Smile, play in the sand and water, chase a lover in a game of tag on the beach. It will add years to your life! <3

Play.

Opening my second suitcase, for my days on the beach I chose loose fitting, light materials to ward the battering sun. But all of these play clothes are cute, chic and stylish. I hope you enjoy them too! <3

See you tomorrow, I hope! <3

Color Out Of the Lines.

I just love the chance when I get to blog with a friend. I can’t tell you how honored I was when Kellis Denimore recently asked if I wanted to blog with her. She is such an incredibly fun person and the fact that she was taking the picture? Well, that was just the icing on the cake. She let me choose what to blog and without much thought I knew I wanted to blog Loovus Dzevavor’s, [[LD]] Major line. Taxi: Part of it was pure selfishness because I had been carrying a mini I was dying to blog, but part was because I just truly love the strong colors and impactful designs of the outfits. We ended up blogging the new romper but I saved some space at the end for the mini.

Color Out of the Lines

Vikeejeah Xevion so kindly let us sneak around in her closets and pull out the latest release from [[LD]], the “Summer Days” romper. One look at these playful designs and I was in love. Do you ever look for something you can pull on to run around in with minimum fanfare and attention to accessories required? That would be these outfits! The bright colors and edgy designs require very little accoutrement. Simple and chicly elegant, that’s how I love my summer!

Color Out of the Lines

I just love clothes that I can “smell” and for some reason, in the summer, the more citrusy the better. The moment I saw this sleeveless, gorgeously orangey mini from [[LD]] Major, (“Jewel of India” in Tourmaline) I had to whip out the wallet and throw in the Lindens. I swear I can smell the orange peel every time I put it on. Yummy! For the choice of accessories, again, it was all easy breezy and put into detail down below. As an aside, this shoot was taken on location at Tunes Meness’s new location/beach/ fun park and the place is gorgeous. The playful little dolphin swam beside me, trying to get in all the pictures and hamming it up the entire time, and of course, the seagull refused to participate. So if you happen to be looking for a cool place to swim with the dolphins, check out 2Xtreme, and while you’re there, give flipper a kiss on the nose from me. Taxi:
