Being Radiant

Makeup can only make you look pretty on the outside but it doesn’t help you if you are ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the makeup. ~Audrey Hepburn

I was actually going to write a blog today, but work has somehow taken over my life. Figures. Why oh why couldn’t I have grown up to be retired? I should have just stayed home; with traffic it took me an hour and fifteen minutes to drive fifteen miles. I realized forty minutes into the drive, no matter how badly my day was shaping up, the person who was in the vehicle crash is decidedly having a worse day, so I should probably calm down and carry on.

Since it’s so late, I will leave you with this. You are beautiful, whether you believe it or not. Buying that diet pill or 6 pack of guaranteed waist slimming fluids isn’t going to make you look beautiful, it’s going to make you more broke. You are beautiful just the way you are. Real, natural, strong, and powerful beauty comes from within your heart. It blossoms from within you creating an alluring, exquisite spirit giving its owner a captivating confidence. But you will have to dig deep and find that beauty. You will have to demand in yourself that you won’t let society define beauty for you, that you are enough, just as you are. Be confident with the person you have grown to be. There will never be another you, so why would you try to be like someone else? Beauty comes in different forms for every woman. From natural, wonderful, healthy, fabulous, unique, we are all of these words. That’s what you are right now, and that’s what beauty is. No changes required.

Being Radiant

Take from? Yep, I can give one because it’s my space to fill. It’s Monday, take a moment and breathe in the beauty that is you. I am so lucky to be surrounded by so much beauty. Peeps, Spirits, Draakjes, Alexa’s, Lola’s, Tessa’s and you. And you too. All of you. I celebrate and laud our sameness and our uniqueness. If I can celebrate your beauty, why can’t you? Smile, life is beautiful.

  1. You see, I wish I grew up to be employed. I understand so well the concept of grass and it’s greenness dependent on our viewpoint. Today, I sit in my pretty princess office, and I’m thinking of you in my beloved Florida. Oh I love that state! I think of Florida with so many wonderful thoughts. I worked in Florida. I was a Youth Pastor for two years, and ages before that, I was a US Navy young seaman. I miss Florida because I was a soccer mom, and soccer referee and soccer coach. I never missed an event my children had. I was involved in PTA and Odyssey of the Mind. I miss the world of the living. Please don’t rush towards retirement too soon, my dearest Cao. It’s quiet, and it’s time for introspection, and it’s time to touch others, and there are beautiful qualities about those things, but you also yield so many things to people you may never meet, and before you do that, you have so many more to touch. I adore you. Writing this made me cry. You never know when you’re going to tap someone’s passion, but when you do, it’s a powerful thing. ❤

    1. You do so much for me Caryn, you make my world a much better place, always be you because you make me cry with happy tears too. I love you and I hope today is a “feel good” day for you. Sending lots of hugs and kisses to you and all of your family 🙂

I'm done inconveniencing electrons, any thoughts? Come on, you know you have 'em, post them up here.
