Being a nerd is not about what you love; it’s about how you love it. ~Wil Wheaton
I’ll be the first to tell you I am a bit of a geek and a nerd, a nerk as my friend Sue Vincent calls it. But somehow, that’s OK because it teaches me that frustration isn’t necessary when one just takes the steps to find out why, this thing we are going through is so frustrating. Because dimes to donuts, if you don’t know why something is happening, there is someone, somewhere who does. This is pretty much how my week began and as luck will have it, the frustration luckily stemmed from two brands with two very intelligent designers. I don’t usually blog knickers, though I’ve been known to wear them in public a time or two but recently Zib Scaggs of Zibska released this Maeve Deux knicker applier for Onyx LaShelle‘s Maitreya brand Lara mesh body and I fell in love. I purchased the applier on the MarketPlace and when I logged inworld I yanked everything off and pushed the applier button. Nothing. Well, something, but all wrong. It looked like it was applying two bra layers. I fiddled with it for an hour or so, called out “uncle” and logged off, frankly pist. I contacted Zib about the dilemma and after a back and forth of off-liners for a day or two she remembered that the updated Lara has to be used for it to work right. I disn’t recall a notice that Lara had been updated, but I went to the store and looked around, unable to find an “update” I had the body redelivered and, yes, in the redelivery there is an update and it works perfectly with no issues. So if you are having an issues with the appliers for Maitreya’s Lara, this is probably the solution.
As I said, issues tend to come in two’s or threes, or perhaps that’s just when you are a Cao. While I was at Maitreya I noticed Onyx had some new items for the mesh body and I thought I might as well throw in another post about it. I pulled on these Zippered Skinny Jeans and the new Lisbon top. There was a black “stain” on the top (seen below). Unsure of its cause, I sent the picture and a note to Onyx explaining the situation and asked if she knew why it was behaving this way. Thankfully she knew immediately what the problem is. I always have a rather slight framed body, it’s what makes me, me. Onyx says for mesh tops the breast size needs to be a minimum of 40 (mine was 30) or the mesh sort of “folds into itself” causing the fabric issue as shown. In the picture above I changed my shape to a 40 breast and Voila, issue is gone.
Anyway, just a couple of things I learned and thought I’d pass on, just in case you ever experience the same issue. I hope you are enjoying the slow slide into the weekend. Man, I love the weekend!
