I know I said today I would blog Unified Heart 2013, but I think it will hold until tomorrow the opening day. (Psyche) Because that was yesterday, then I read this on a friends FB page, “Did you know the people that are the strongest are usually the most sensitive? Did you know the people who exhibit the most kindness are the first to get mistreated? Did you know the one who takes care of others all the time are usually the ones who need it the most? Did you know the 3 hardest things to say are I love you, I’m sorry, and Help me.” And every single word pinged a little knock on my heart. In fact, while writing this I just had to take a moment to breathe, to reflect and to draw myself out of myself just to write the next sentence. To those I have hurt or not helped, I am sorry I thought what I was doing was so important I couldn’t help you. For those who have hurt me, I forgive you whether you want me to or not. For those who need care, I am here and my ears and my heart are open. For those who think this doesn’t apply to them, read it again and really think about yourself. Life is good, when we allow it to be so. Just realize, we all occupy space and at times it is a microcosm of it, so watch those elbows and knees, those thoughts and words, because our space often orbits one anothers. The take from, yep its here. Sugar is sucrose, which is actually two simple sugars stuck together: fructose and glucose. Adding a little acid (lemon juice or an acidic personality) causes sugar to break down, which can be okay, I suppose. We’ve all got THAT friend, right? But if you get too many acidic friends, the over-saturation causes the sugar to crystallize and it’s all, erm, uh, “gritty” from there. So I guess the take from is, do you want to be the sugar or the one who causes all the “grit”?

My friend Kallisto Destiny, bish that she is, emailed me yesterday a screen shot of her closet filled with the new items from Maitreya… Knowing I wouldn’t be inworld until today around 9AM SLT, but I forgive her, she’s not really the acidic kind, she’s more the pointy elbow person. I digress, but I had to put a little character assassination in there, because Cao’s are that way.(hmmm maybe I’m the acid) A few weeks ago, Kalli the designer for Drift, sent me this amazing “City” coat. I’ve always loved classic style and there is nothing more classic than a chic houndstooth, no? I paired the coat with a classic cut pant “My High Pant” from Marcopol Oh of La Penderie De Nicole. I’ve missed Marco a lot lately, but I finally spoke to him inworld a few days ago, he is doing fine, other than he is currently having computer issues, but his new computer is on the way and we should see him about again in February. And the best news is he is going to be opening a new store at Salimar’s new mall! YAY! For those who do not know, we have renovated Salimar and in addition to the bigger, brighter area for the Couturier’s Dock (shhhhh next round January 30,2013- more info later) there will be several stores available there including, *SoliDea FoliEs*, *LpD*, LD Major, AD Creations Dollhouse, HMAEM, Le Penderie De Nicole, just to name a few. I’m looking forward to his return, and the return of the Couturier’s Dock. I sure hope you are too. In the mean time, check out Gizza, Drift, Dura, and La Penderie, I know they have something for every taste! Look down below, I actually even included the taxi’s for you!

I know you all know me and know what a recluse and solitary person I am. I cant help it, I’ve always been a quiet reflective person. But every year, about this time of year, I get so very lonely. I put on a mask and pretend it doesn’t effect me, but it still does, 7 years later. I’ve made a new blog friend and I think he has made me introspective and I want try to share more of me. It was this month that I lost one of the dearest most loved people I know, my best friend, my brothers wife. She was diagnosed, at the age of 37 with leukemia. She lived another nine months. She was survived by a husband, two children and a best friend, her sister in law.

Did you know, Relay For Life is the highest fundraising event the citizens of Second Life participate in? When I was inworld a moment ago, my friend Emanuelle Courtois stopped me in passing and spoke of her role in this years Relay for Life project. Emanuelle is an amazing videographer and her donation to the event will be a film of second life residents who have beat the awful ravages of cancer. She would like real life cancer surviving heros (you are all heros to me) to speak in voice through their avatar about what they have been through, what they have learned about themselves and share it with others. The format would be as if you are speaking to yourself at the age of sixteen, telling yourself what is to come, how to prepare or avoid. However, this is just a guideline. This is YOUR forum to speak in. If you would like the information on the film, or would like to share it with a person you think willing to share, please contact Emanuelle Courtois, or myself by January 20th, 2013 and we will see that you receive the notecard with information.

I help with a lot of Second Life charities, but the one that always means the most to me for obvious reasons is Relay for Life. Please don’t miss this event, created for such a noble cause. 100% of the proceeds of the SL event are for Relay for Life and are given to the American Cancer Society. Anyone who knows me knows my life has been touched more than once by the scourge of cancer. This is such a dreaded disease, it silently infiltrates families and friendships, doesn’t care whether its victim is an adult or child, nor does it care the color of one’s skin. Let’s work together to see this disease eradicated in our life time.

I am having one of those weeks from ‘ell. You know the one, that week where you seem to get further and further behind? So just a little short blog today. YAY! I have to tell you, in Second Life, UNlike my first life, I run around in my knickers, well, a lot! Ask my little dragon, she probably thinks thats all I own. But she’s a cool besty because she never makes me go change. And to be truthful, I can’t even figure out why I do it. Probably some deep seeded flash back from my mom always telling me to wear clean unripped underwear in case I got into an auto accident. Have you ever been told that? One day I’d like to meet the person who gossiped that rule to the right ear before the rule went viral. So, mum, this ones for you. As you can obviously see, no ripped knickers on the Cao. I know, I know, I am going to have a kid twice as bad as I am one day.

When you travel around in your day, don’t forget, that stranger you pass may just be someone as awesome as you are!

Just a short notice on the above, I simply love the soon to be released “Bangladesh” babydoll dress from [LD] Major. [LD]Major is always right on with the perfect patterns, colors and fabrics! This item is an exclusive to The Couturier’s Dock, which is beginning another round September 13th, so mark those calendars! The accompanying style is laid back and relaxing with the Mon Tissu, “openwork” wedges in mustard, a gorgeous necklace “Mariri” from Kungler’s Extra. And what better way to crown myself in comfort than the “Tubular Bells” hair from Vanity Hair and the “Imperium” hat from .Shi? I could find no more comforting way to spend the afternoon strolling through my yard and thinking about the events of the day.

I have to admit, I hardly slept last night, and this morning I awoke with hurt feelings. I don’t know why I am mentioning it here, I honestly don’t. But perhaps in the telling, I will learn about myself and you will learn from my mistake. You see, I was told I would have to recast for OGlam agency and it really upset me. I don’t know why, I am retired, right? But I honestly felt I had failed, and I always take very seriously when I let someone down, even in a Second Life. But as the day wore on, and I spoke a couple of times with my friend Matteo, the CEO of OGlam, I realized he was right. So just a note to up and coming models, you get from the agency exactly what you put into it. Don’t think of it just as the agency committing to give you jobs at your convenience, remember, you are committing to giving in return, giving time, giving professional style and giving winning attitude. I always gave OGlam the latter two, but in retirement I am too stingy with the first rule, time. If Matteo were to ask me to participate in any function with the agency, I will still do so, with full enthusiasm and support, but for the most part, I wish the agency every success they can find. As for you all, get out there, cast! And Enjoy! It’s your time to take over the grid and shine! So get styling, and always be beautyful!

Welcome to the Couturier’s Dock! We are Salimar Art SIM and we are tomorrow starting our fifth round of this fun event and the inventory will disappear quickly and once the current inventory is gone, it is gone. We purposely kept our designer’s list limited to some of the designers we feel have niched their own genre of fashion so the items available to you will be unique, limited to lots of 35 units, will be affordable at a price range of 50 to 500 Lindens (50% off the main store price) and we hope what you find will be a treasured addition to your Second Life inventory.

The Couturier's Dock

It seems Second Life is a lot emptier these days. Everyone is off celebrating holidays and things, enjoying the weather, having fun. I miss my facebook, flickr friends and blog friends the most, I think. Inworld most people ignore me and let me go about my hermit ways, but here, and on Facebook and flickr, people keep up with me a little bit more, make me accountable for my where abouts, so when friends wander off from these places, I truly miss them. I’ve always wondered if the inhabitants of the southern hemisphere celebrate their “summer” in winter so they can be gone when we are, or do they celebrate it the normal way, in their weathers-pheric summer? I’d love to know! So with the summer half over, I think of poor Otis Redding, “sitting on a dock of the bay” just wasting time. I presume he watched a few sunsets over there in California, wishing someone, would buy his album, would enjoy his dream. A Georgia boy on the cusp of making it big, but tragically, he died in a plane crash before showing his full potential. And as I ramble on, (oh wait, I will save Led Zepplin for another day) I think the point is, in life, sadly, we all have deadlines. And for those sitting on some dock on some bay, wasting time, the third round of the The Couturier’s Dock will close July 15th, so if you haven’t yet purchased your half off limited quantity items, you better. Quite a few are already closed, but some remain.

As I read my most recent Vogue magazine I was surprised they were giving a “sneak peek” of the Fall styles, but I suppose Fall is just around the corner for most of us. At this rounds Couturier’s Dock, [[LD]] Major has also chosen to give us a sneaky peek of their Fall line and it is, frankly sublime. I purchased the “Stingray Chic” item and I was amazed when I unboxed the item, it not only includes the “nubby” black jacket with white accents, it includes the matching purse and pumps. By adding the Mon Tissu “westbury” skirt, Mandala jewelry, Hair from Tuty’s and a flower I found in inventory and colored red, I am thinking I am looking forward to Fall this year! It truly is a gorgeous jacket; I’d hate to see anyone miss out on this deal, because the piece is very multi-functional and dresses up or down but is fitted which always adds elegance.

My second outfit is Angels and Demons Creations (AD Creations) “Belly Mask.” I just love the originality and creativeness of Aliza Karu’s outfits! And for all you styling mavens out there, *Big Hint*, outfits like the ones from Aliza are excellent for using parts of for intense styling challenges between multiple designers. They always tend to work and play well with others and are definitely “outside the box” styling forward. I can think of at least five uses each for just the top, collar and head piece, so if you have looming challenges ahead, i.e. MVW competition, it might be a good time to create what I have labeled in inventory as a “really cool stuff” folder containing these outfits. All that was added to this look was the [GOS] boots and a couple of bracelets from Rozoregalia.

So if you are “wasting time” might as well check out what’s left at The Couturier’s Dock because come Sunday, the sun will have set on this round. Have a peaceful day! Here’s a carpet ride to The Couturier’s Dock: Magic Carpet

Color Out Of the Lines.

I just love the chance when I get to blog with a friend. I can’t tell you how honored I was when Kellis Denimore recently asked if I wanted to blog with her. She is such an incredibly fun person and the fact that she was taking the picture? Well, that was just the icing on the cake. She let me choose what to blog and without much thought I knew I wanted to blog Loovus Dzevavor’s, [[LD]] Major line. Taxi: Part of it was pure selfishness because I had been carrying a mini I was dying to blog, but part was because I just truly love the strong colors and impactful designs of the outfits. We ended up blogging the new romper but I saved some space at the end for the mini.

Color Out of the Lines

Vikeejeah Xevion so kindly let us sneak around in her closets and pull out the latest release from [[LD]], the “Summer Days” romper. One look at these playful designs and I was in love. Do you ever look for something you can pull on to run around in with minimum fanfare and attention to accessories required? That would be these outfits! The bright colors and edgy designs require very little accoutrement. Simple and chicly elegant, that’s how I love my summer!

Color Out of the Lines

I just love clothes that I can “smell” and for some reason, in the summer, the more citrusy the better. The moment I saw this sleeveless, gorgeously orangey mini from [[LD]] Major, (“Jewel of India” in Tourmaline) I had to whip out the wallet and throw in the Lindens. I swear I can smell the orange peel every time I put it on. Yummy! For the choice of accessories, again, it was all easy breezy and put into detail down below. As an aside, this shoot was taken on location at Tunes Meness’s new location/beach/ fun park and the place is gorgeous. The playful little dolphin swam beside me, trying to get in all the pictures and hamming it up the entire time, and of course, the seagull refused to participate. So if you happen to be looking for a cool place to swim with the dolphins, check out 2Xtreme, and while you’re there, give flipper a kiss on the nose from me. Taxi:
